The fire took place in Norwalk around 10:10 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 43 Lexington Ave.
The fire started in the bedroom of the home and quickly spread to floors above, said Norwalk Fire Department Deputy Chief Steve Shay.
There were nine occupants at home at the time of the fire and all escaped without injury, Shay said.
"However, all of their belongings were destroyed," Shay said.
The house was gutted and posted unfit for occupancy, displacing all nine occupants.
Shay said the Red Cross responded and provided temporary shelter.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
